* Beginning with the epic, long-awaited wedding, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” delivers on the romantic tension that led up to this point. While far from the end of the saga, this romantic drama, which finds Jacob still protective of Bella, carries with it additional twists that book lovers and series novices will both enjoy. Under the direction of Bill Condon, this DVD changes up the cinematography style from the first three movies, with more adult-themed scenes and starker coloring, targeting a maturing audience. Still rated PG-13, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” runs 117 minutes, through which Kristen Stewart aptly represents the transformation to the living dead, ultimately enduring an accelerated surprise pregnancy. Pattinson and Lautner continue the romantic drama with their silent feud, but also with their undying mutual concern for Stewart’s beleaguered character. The DVD delivers a faithful representation of Stephanie Meyer’s book and includes satisfying CGI during the vampires’ encounter with the werewolf pack. Lovers of the franchise will find “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” an integral piece of the comprehensive collection.
